AUTODESK UPDATED TRANSACTION PROCESS ANNOUNCED FOR THE US & CANADA

AUTODESK UPDATED TRANSACTION PROCESS ANNOUNCED FOR THE US & CANADA

Autodesk introduced a similar transaction model for all software purchases as for Flex in Australia last November 2023. Following the first trial, they have announced to bring the new model to US and Canada by 10th  June 2024. No timeline has been shared for other geographies; however Autodesk does intend to roll the new process out globally over the next 2 years. In the new process, the order and payment transaction will happen directly between the customer and Autodesk as it does with Flex today. Symetri will still have responsibility for pre-purchase activities such as customer advisory for choosing the right Autodesk solution, and post-purchase activities such as onboarding, training, and support. The process for your investments in other areas i.e. Symetri Tech, services or other third-party software, remains unchanged.

What does this mean for our customers right now?

There is no action to take for our UK and European customers at this time, but we will share more insights and valuable resources to help you prepare and master the new process once Autodesk announces a go live date for Europe.

If you have any further queries or concerns before then, please don’t hesitate to contact your account manager or call us on 061 919000.

We look forward to helping you work smarter through this transition.

Service disruptions affecting Autodesk and other services

20 October 2025

Autodesk is currently experiencing outages and unstable operations. The cause is likely due to issues at Amazon Web Services (AWS) – the cloud platform that many companies, including Autodesk, use for their solutions.
