How to: Autodesk Have Asked Me to Update My TLS

Autodesk is rolling out emails titled “Important: NEW August 3 deadline for Autodesk TLS update”.

What does “TLS” stand for? Transport Layer Security

Let us break this down for you in layman’s terms…

Firstly, this only affects Stand-alone users, so if your licenses are Networked (Multi-user), you can stop reading now.

To put it simply, if you are using any of the programs listed in the link below, then please ensure you carry out all software updates and install the patch by August 3, 2019. This update almost exclusively affects 2014, 2015, and 2016 products but be sure to check the list all the same.

Failing to apply these patches may result in interrupted software access and connectivity.

You can download the patch for your product HERE.
Simply select your product version (year).

If your software version is not listed, you’re in luck, you don’t have to do anything

Alternatively, if you can work with 2018, 2019, or 2020 versions of your software, please do so. If you are a subscription user, you are entitled to update to the latest version of your software any time.
