Autodesk to open EMEA operations in Dublin

Dublin is no stranger to Tech companies, but the latest addition to the multitude of global giants to grace our shores is none other than the world leader in design software technology……Autodesk.

Autodesk is probably best known for it’s Computer Aided Design (CAD) products such as Autocad, Inventor, Revit, Moldflow, Nastran & Delcam, among others. These and many other tools are frequently used by Irish Designers, Engineers and “makers” in areas such as Product Design, Manufacturing, Architecture, Engineering and Construction.

Autodesk’s presence in Ireland will offer significant advantages to many customers who utilise their technology to create and manage design data for local, national and international projects.

Autodesk are consolidating their operations across Europe following a recent move that saw a reduction of almost 13% of their global workforce. Autodesk have moved their entire Central Operations for EMEA to Dublin, to ensure that they maximise their operational efficiency while maintaining their ongoing leadership advantage.

Andrew Anagnost, Autodesk president and CEO, said in a statement. “We’re taking this restructuring action from a position of strength. ” Over the last few months, Andrew Anagnost, and his senior leadership team, have outlined to employees, partners and investors, 3 strategic priorities that will help Autodesk grow as a company:  completing the subscription transition, digitizing the company, and re-imagining manufacturing, construction, and production. To accomplish strategic priorities, Autodesk need to run the company with increased focus and they must also make tough decisions that allow them to shift resources towards growth areas that will help meet long-term goals.

A local presence in Ireland will mean that customers can get access to the latest desktop and cloud technologies as well as confidence that our local industry trends will help influence the direction of future development. Autodesk will become a major employer in Dublin with as many as 200 jobs already envisaged at this early stage.

Autodesk Dublin have begun recruiting for various roles within their Operations and already more than 25 have commenced their new positions in the New Dublin offices.

The Autodesk “Dublin office” was officially opened by their CEO, Andrew Anagnost on Tuesday February 13th in an informal ceremony with some brief insights into the long term plans for Autodesk and the “Future of Making Things”

Procad (now Symetri), Ireland’s first Autodesk Gold Partner, will be delighted to discuss Autodesk’s objectives and business strategy with the many customers and businesses wanting to find out more about this significant move.
