Autodesk: The Subscription Advantage

Autodesk: The Subscription Advantage

Subscribing to Autodesk products provides you greater access to tools and technology, with flexible control and insights to better manage your users and business.

There are four key subscription values:

  • Latest and greatest product capabilities – With a subscription, customers get access to Autodesk’s ongoing stream of innovation, updates to core products, cloud services for desktop products, and additional capabilities as soon as they’re available, at no additional cost.
  • Access to new industry collections – These are available only through subscription and offer significant savings when customers need two or more Autodesk software products.
  • New and improved support – Customers enjoy faster response times and the option to receive help by scheduling a call with Procad Technical Support specialists, addressing all issues!
  • Simplified administration – You can access tools that streamline deployment and software management when you standardize all of your Autodesk products on subscription; Everything can be managed through the accounts portal!

And as these are just some of the current benefits of subscription, we have to remember that there’s much more to come! Autodesk plan to give YOU more access to products on any device, greater control any time, any one and any where, and deeper insights across products, projects and teams.

Subscribing  provides many flexible licensing rights:

Home Use Rights – Employees are increasingly working from locations other than the office of their employer, maintenance plan provides the ability to install your software on multiple machines to allow for use in multiple locations

Global Travel Rights– Sometimes you not only need to work from locations outside of your home office, you may need to work outside your home country; Global Travel Rights make it so that you can work seamlessly from afar.

Previous Version Rights – Just as you want to stay up to date with the most current software to remain competitive, there are cases where having access to previous versions of Autodesk software helps you ensure consistency. Subscribing allows for previous version use of select software.

License Type Options

License Types

Contract administrators grant access to subscription for single-user products and associated services by assigning a named user to a product. Each named user is an individual with a unique Autodesk ID.

Multi-User

The Basic Compliancy Rules

  • Each license needs to be purchased in territory where the license will be registered.
  • Stand-alone perpetual license installation may not be over installed compared to the number of seats of a product.
  • Subscription users may not share their user login.
  • Previous versions are only available for active Maintenance plan and Subscription contracts

Role Summary

When a new subscription begins, only the Contract Manager role exists. By default, the Contract Manager is also the User and a Named Caller. If a Software Coordinator is not assigned by the Contract Manager, the Software Coordinator role capabilities default to the Contract Manager. Only the Contract Manager can assign a Software Coordinator and a user(s).

  • Each named user is an individual with a unique Autodesk ID
  • Autodesk ID’s may not be shared
  • No generic email addresses
  • The number of named users you can assign per product is determined by the total number of licenses available for that product.
