3D Advanced Materials Training

This course is designed to provide candidates with the skills and knowledge to select and work confidently with a wide range of FDM.

Objectives of the Programme

The objectives of this programme and it’s series of modules are:

  • Provide delegates with detailed knowledge of advanced material available for FDM platforms.
  • Explain the advantages and considerations that are required for the design and successful printing of such advanced materials.
  • Describe the process for Sintering and De-Binding in metal printing on FDM.
  • Enable delegates to be able to set up a printer and print profile for such engineering and advanced materials.

Learning Outcomes of the Programme

  • Understand the different types of advanced materials available for FDM printing, including GF, CF and 316L.
  • Understand the advantages and considerations that need to be taken when designing and setting up a print for the various types of materials and why.
  • Understand the de-binding and sintering process associated with 316L.
  • Set up a printer for advanced materials and have the ability to recognise the advantages and disadvantages of materials.
