How Autodesk rescued our marriage from the depths of DIY despair.
Once upon a time in the quaint village of Fixer-Upper Falls, lived a couple named John and Mary. They were living the dream, or so they thought, as they embarked on the ambitious journey of renovating their charming, but slightly dilapidated, 1970s bungalow. The bungalow seemed like the perfect canvas for their dreams, but as the renovation began, so did the challenges — that is until Autodesk Construction Cloud, came to their rescue.
As they delved into the project, armed with power tools, paint swatches, and a Pinterest board to rival the Louvre, they quickly realised they were out of their depth. Miscommunication between contractors, delays in deliveries, and unexpected structural issues left Mary and John pulling their hair out. The dream they once had seemed to be slipping away, and their beloved bungalow became a construction zone filled with frustration.
Enter Autodesk, the silent saviour of relationships and destroyer of DIY disasters. Mary stumbled upon Autodesk Construction Cloud while researching ways to streamline their renovation process. With Autodesk Build’s cost control features they were able to keep track of the costs too and ensure that they didn’t blow the budget. The benefits of Autodesk Construction Cloud became even more apparent during unforeseen challenges. When the renovation unearthed an unexpected structural issue, the couple used BIM Collaborate to communicate with their architect in real-time. The software enabled them to collaboratively explore solutions, preventing delays and additional costs.
As the weeks went by, John and Mary saw their renovation project transforming. What was once a disaster had now become a well-organised, efficiently managed construction site. The couple marvelled at how the same house that had caused them so much stress was now on track to becoming their dream home, one future proofed for their family to come.
