Generate a Network License File in Autodesk Account

Generate a Network License File in Autodesk Account

To generate a network license file the first step is to download the Network License Manager. We recommend that network administrators always update licensing servers with the most recent version of Network License Manager when it is released to avoid any licensing issues and ensure compatibility with current versions of other Autodesk software products.

Downloading the Network License Manager

Note: The latest installers for the Autodesk Network License Manager install both IPv4 and IPv6 versions of the NLM. If your network uses the IPv4 protocol, you should not have to make any other changes. If your network uses the IPv6 protocol, you may want to set the FNP_IP_PRIORITY environment variable to give priority to IPv6, which can improve performance and avoid unwanted IPv4 address resolution. Refer to the latest version of the FlexNet document, License Administration Guide for more information.

The next step is to generate the network license file once the network license manager is downloaded and set up.

After planning your network and installing the Network License Manager (NLM), you need to obtain a network license file from Autodesk. This license file contains important licensing and server information and is used to configure your server so that you can run the NLM.
