Fusion Teams…. what is it and why you need it?

A common question that we keep hearing “is Fusion 360 and Fusion Teams the same thing?”. Fusion 360 is quickly becoming a staple in all sectors of manufacturing but in case you haven’t heard of yet it, Fusion 360 is a 3D parametric design software, much like Inventor, Solidworks, Creo and other such as programs that are used widely in industry for design and manufacture.

In today’s blog we will delve into the many capabilities of Fusion teams and explain in detail.

Fusion teams is a collaboration tool that gives a user access to all their files. If you have been using Fusion 360, you will know that unlike all the other packages out there, it’s a cloud-based software, meaning everything that you save within software is saved automatically to the cloud.

With all your designs available in the cloud, you can access all your data from anywhere in the world.

As it’s a browser-based program, you will be able to access all your designs, assemblies, and documentation from anywhere at any time. From a smart phone to tablet you will be able to access your files and folders and review them.

Tools within Fusion Teams

Not only can you view your files and folders, you can also go a step further and open up your designs from a web browser, orbit, zoom in/out, section, measure, explode and rotate your designs, allowing team members visibility and dimensions on designs.

Mark ups, comments, sketches can all be added to your designs.

Allowing members to create comments and markups drives updates to happen quicker, each comment or markup can be aimed at team member names, so they will get email notification to highlight an action is needed.

This process makes it easier and faster to review and approve designs, on the fly as you go.
