We’ve noticed that there have been a few issues and errors reported about a number of Auotdesk 2018 products, so we’ve outlined below what we’ve come across.
When you launch an Autodesk product on a MAC the “Let’s Get Started” screen does not show the option to Sign In.
Manually create the following folder:
/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/CLM/LGS/ {product code}_201x.0.0.F/
Substitute the folder name for the product that you have installed:
657I1_2017.0.0.F/ for Maya 2017
777I1 _2017.0.0.F/ for AutoCAD for MAC 2018
827I1 _2017.0.0.F/ for AutoCAD LT for MAC 2018
When a drawing is attached as an Xref in AutoCAD Architecture, AutoCAD MEP, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or AutoCAD Plant 3D, AEC object components that are set to display BYLAYER in the parent file inherit the layer properties of the layer that Xref resides on.
This is a known issue introduced in the 2018 releases which has been reported to the development team for investigation.
Install the 2018.0.1 update for AutoCAD Architecture, MEP and Civil 3D 2018.

This behaviour might occur because one (or all) of the following:
The solution is to:
1. Download: Autodesk® AutoCAD® 2015-2018 Geolocation Online Map Hotfix
2. Unzip the file and extract:
3. Then open the following folder:
4. Edit HotfixLauncher.vbs file in notepad.
5. Save the file and run the hotfix directly from that edited vbs it will be silent.
This happens if you have Kaspersky Antivirus installed on your machine. Please follow the recommendations in the kaspersky link below on creating exceptions for certain files, https://support.kaspersky.com/11146
You need to create exceptions in Kaspersky to stop filtering the files in the following paths,
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\AutoCAD Mechanical 2017\Acadm\gef\gdb\contentlib.xml
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\AutoCAD Mechanical 2017\Acadm\gef\gdb\database.cfg
You want to install AutoCAD 2018 but you get the error:
“Run Setup.exe to install AutoCAD 2018”
Try to install the software using the Browser Download:
If this should not work, try to perform a clean uninstall and reinstall the software again:
When trying to run Navisworks Manage 2018 you get the following error.
Corrupt installation.
To resolve this error uninstall Navisworks Manage 2018 and reinstall.
