Autodesk announced the launch of the 2012 versions of products and for those using AutoCAD Inventor Suite, there’s some pretty good stuff coming your way!
The biggest addition to the 2012 Digital Prototyping portfolio is the Autodesk Product Design Suite (PDS), which will replace the current AutoCAD Inventor Suites. Those who have AutoCAD Inventor Suite today and have an active subscription contract will receive Product Design Suite automatically as part of the subscription fulfilment!
Suites are not new to Autodesk, we’ve had the Factory Design Suite (more on this to come) and Autodesk Design Suite in the portfolio for about 6 months or so, and even before that we’ve had the AutoCAD Inventor Suite and Revit Suites. But the addition of Product Design Suite to the Autodesk portfolio takes our Digital Prototyping solution to the next level for Designers and Engineers. Here’s all you need to know about Autodesk Product Design Suite:
Product Design Suite comes in three flavours – Standard, Premium and Ultimate and each one contains a suite of software that will give design engineers a comprehensive set of industry leading design, engineering and visualisation tools right on your desktop. Each Suite contains a number of software applications, here’s the breakdown:
Product Design Suite Standard
Product Design Suite Premium
Product Design Suite Ultimate
So which one will you get? It all depends on what software you have today.
If you have AutoCAD Inventor Suite 2011 with an active subscription contract you will receive Product Design Suite Premium.
If you have AutoCAD Inventor Professional Suite, AutoCAD Inventor Tooling Suite, AutoCAD Inventor Simulation Suite or AutoCAD Inventor Routed Systems Suite on an active subscription contract you will receive Product Design Suite Ultimate.
All of the Suites will be delivered as digital downloads, or where requested on a single USB thumb drive which contains a streamlined installer tool that will install all of the products in the suite (or the ones you select to install) in one quick & easy process.
We’ll be covering each of the products in the Product Design Suite in more detail over the next few days, so please feel free to visit back and read more about Inventor 2012, Mudbox, SketchBook Designer and the other tools in the Suite.
