On June 8, Autodesk released 3ds Max 2018.1. and a big part of this release is the 3ds Max Interactive, a new feature of 3ds Max for authoring VR visualizations.
As you proceed through the documentation, keep an eye out for the icon, indicating a new feature, and the icon, indicating a change to an existing feature. You can also search for information about new or changed features.

3ds Max Interactive:
3ds Max Interactive is now included with your 3ds Max subscription.
Model Assist | Model Assist is a new viewport visual style that provides you with improved feedback when working on models with no smoothing groups. |
Scene Converter | Improvements have been made when converting Autodesk Materials with the Slate Editor open. |
Arnold Renderer | Improved experience when you drag-and-drop materials. |
Stability and Usability | Improved the stability and usability of both the Unwrap UVW modifier and MAXScript Editor, as well as the stability of 3ds Max in general. |
